Features: Dennis Fayarde, project manager for Walton, said the project includes the Gateway Fountain area, a bridge between the first and second phases with an ornate fountain where the second phase begins. The project also has a three-story parking garage owned by Platte County.
Anchor tenant: Dillard's
Drawing cards: Robert Brown, senior construction executive for Steiner + Associates, said the project adds another level of detail to Zona Rosa's architecture.
"The finishes on the buildings, public restrooms and the residential space" make the project unusual, Brown said. "The apartments are, in my opinion, condo-grade units."
The project's apartments at The Dixson range from about $950 to $1,500 a month for one- and two-bedroom units containing 689 to 1,035 square feet. "Also, all the artwork that we utilized throughout the residential and office space was by Kansas City artists," Brown said. "I think that's kind of a neat thing that says a lot about Kansas City and the quality of the people living there."
