Regions LLC. and Neighbors Construction to break ground on energy-efficient, maintenance-provided townhomes, walk-ups and flats within walking distance to goods and services

LENEXA, Kan. (August 12, 2008) In historic downtown Overland Park, Kan., new housing options will bloom with next spring's flowers. Regions LLC announced today that it will break ground Thursday, August 14 on a $5.3 million, 22-unit infill townhome development bordered by 78th Street on the north, Conser Street on the east and Newton Street on the west.

Consistent with Overland Park's Vision Metcalf plan to revitalize commercial, residential and retail growth along a nine-mile stretch of the city's main corridor from Interstate 35 to 123rd Street, the Townhomes at Buckley Court will provide a vibrant, "walkable" lifestyle. Located just two blocks north of downtown Overland Park, the project will provide high-quality, energy-efficient living for people who want to live close to shops, restaurants and other services.

"Buckley Court homes offer the perfect lifestyle choice for just about everyone. They follow a nationwide trend of people moving closer to places where they work, shop and socialize," said John Foudray, Regions LLC. director of development. "From first-time home buyers to people looking to downsize, almost everything they need - work, dining, the Overland Park Farmer's Market, the Matt Ross Community Center and shopping - is just steps away."

The Buckley Court project is located in Overland Park's Historic Downtown Neighborhood District. Regions and architectural firm Gastinger Walker Harden designed Buckley Court in compliance with District guidelines, which encourage a variety of housing options and a walkable lifestyle that supports downtown businesses.

The Buckley Court homes, scheduled for completion in late spring 2009, will include 12 townhomes, five walk-ups and five flats ranging from 930 to 2,300 square feet - all with high-quality interior finishes and energy-efficient features such as 2 x 6 exterior wall construction, high-efficiency heat pumps and windows, and compact fluorescent lights. Every home will offer an enclosed garage and either a private courtyard or a terrace.

Buckley Court prices will range from the $130,000s to the $290,000s and include exterior maintenance. First-time homebuyers who close on a unit before July 1, 2009, may qualify for a $7,500 tax credit provided for in the new housing bill President Bush recently signed.

Thanks to its central location and short walk to goods and services, Buckley Court residents can reduce their drive time and enjoy a short commute to downtown Kansas City and most major Johnson County employers' offices. Each unit comes standard with solid-surface countertops, wood floors, stainless steel appliances, designer fixtures and nine-foot or vaulted ceilings.

Buckley Court's contractor is Lenexa, Kan.-based Neighbors Construction, and Reece & Nichols will market the development. Learn more at www.BuckleyCourt.com.
